We use 1Account, a trusted third-party verification system, to confirm your age. This system cross-checks multiple independent databases, including:

✔️ Credit record (soft check – no impact on credit score)
✔️ UK birth register
Our goal is to complete verification quickly and securely, using the least amount of checks necessary. If initial checks are inconclusive, we may ask for additional details, such as:
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Passport number or driving licence number
This information is securely processed and matched against official data sources to confirm your age.
Will This Affect My Credit Score?
No. Any verification check conducted with a credit reference agency is logged as an ‘unrecorded enquiry’ (also known as a soft check). This does not impact your credit rating or affect future credit applications.
What If Additional Verification Is Required?
In some cases, we may need to request further details to confirm your age. If this happens, we’ll contact you directly to explain what’s needed.
Who We Share Your Information With
To complete the verification process, we may share necessary details with 1Account and their approved identity verification partners. All data is processed in line with strict security measures and retained only as long as required.
